Principal's Message
College closed Monday 10th March
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to monitor and prepare for Tropical Cyclone Alfred. My understanding is that some families in our community have been evacuated from their homes. We continue to pray for the safety and wellbeing of our students, families, and staff and for family and friends in other parts of NSW and Queensland.
I know that decisions to close schools can cause disruption and uncertainty and I appreciate your understanding as we prioritise the safety of our school community.
At this time, I also remind families to follow emergency services advice. Never drive through floodwaters, as conditions can change quickly. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to download the "Hazards Near Me" app to stay informed of real-time warnings and updates.
Please stay safe, and I will send communications as the situation evolves and will contact you regarding further updates for the week ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Week 6 - Year 10
Due to the College being closed on Monday, the scheduled "Love Bites" program will be postponed to a date later in the year.
At this stage, the Year 10 Retreat to be held at the Francis Retreat, Bonny Hills will be going ahead if the College re-opens on Tuesday.
Ash Wednesday
It was a privilege to have our newly appointed Deacon Hyland, lead the Ash Wednesday Liturgy, marking the start of Lent. Both students and staff received ashes in the shape of a cross on their foreheads, representing repentance, renewal, and a commitment to their faith. The ashes were derived from palm leaves burned during last year's Palm Sunday celebrations.
A heartfelt thank you to Adam for his commentary throughout the liturgy, and to our talented musicians—Jack, Zac, Elijah, Oliver, Alannah, and Cassandra—for their contributions.
