Year 9 2026 Information Evening – Diversifying Learning Pathways

We warmly invite all Year 8 students and their families to attend our Year 9 Information Evening on Monday 2nd June in the College Hall commencing at 6.00 pm This important event will provide valuable insights into the changes we are making to elective subjects available for Year 9 2026 and how these choices can influence each student’s learning journey through to senior secondary school.

As students move into Year 9, they have the opportunity to personalise their own learning and choose a pattern of study that is unique to their interests. The new elective short courses offer an exciting opportunity to explore these interests, develop new skills, and begin tailoring their education to suit potential career aspirations.

During the evening, we will outline the changes we are making to the traditional elective courses offered across Years 9 and 10 as we move to an expanded range of short course offerings in Year 9 and an expanded range of elective offerings in Year 10.

The evening will also provide an overview of educational pathways leading into Year 11 and 12, specifically focusing on the NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), including ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) pathways for university, and alternate options such as school-based apprenticeships, traineeships, and VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses.

We strongly encourage all families to attend and partner with us, as this evening marks a key milestone in each student’s educational journey.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Semester 1 Award Recipients

On behalf of the entire school community, we extend our warmest congratulations to our Year 12 award recipients. Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have not only set a standard for your peers but have also made a lasting impact on our school.

These awards are more than recognition—they are a testament to the many hours of study, effort, and growth you’ve invested throughout Semester 1 of your final year of secondary education. Whether your achievement lies in academic excellence, leadership, creativity, service, or resilience, each award reflects a unique and valued contribution to our community.

This moment marks a significant milestone in your journey. You have demonstrated what is possible through hard work, integrity, and passion. As you prepare to embark on the next chapter of your life, carry forward the confidence and values that helped you earn these honours. Know that you leave behind a legacy of inspiration and aspiration for the students who follow in your footsteps.

As you celebrate this achievement, take time to reflect on your progress by reviewing your report and identifying areas for growth. Use this insight to prepare purposefully for the final stage of your journey to the HSC. Your efforts now will shape your future success.

To the families, teachers, and mentors who have supported these students along the way, thank you for the guidance and encouragement that helped shape their success.

To our award recipients: We are incredibly proud of you. May this recognition be a stepping stone to even greater achievements in the future. Continue to aim high, stay curious, and never stop striving to make a positive difference in the world.
