2025 Diocesan Tennis Results

Diocesan Tennis Championships

The Diocesan Tennis Championships were held on Tuesday, the 14th May.  They were played at Lismore Tennis Club.  Congratulations to our Open Girls team, who were the overall winners on the day!

The team has qualified for the CCC Championships in Bathurst in September.

The following wrap was provided by Mrs Winters.
Congratulations to the SJRC Tennis team, who recently competed at the Diocesan Tennis championships, held in Lismore on Wednesday. Meet the team: Henry Warren, Toby Thomas, Abbie Hudson, Gabby Zeeman, Angie Zeeman and Paige Hudson.

This was a doubles team event; all SJRC teams shone throughout the day. Students demonstrated exceptional skill and talent on the court, with many exciting rallies, net plays, aces, teamwork, and communication skills on display. All students are to be congratulated on their outstanding sportsmanship and school spirit, and for representing St Joseph’s Regional College with pride.

The Junior boys’ team was strong and consistent, and fought hard, winning an impressive 5 from the 7 matches they played. The Open girls A and B teams dominated throughout the day, both teams winning 4 from 4 matches, and going through the day undefeated.

Congratulations to the two Open girls teams who won the day with a combined score and will now progress to the CCC School Teams Tennis Championships to be held in Bathurst in September. Congratulations to all students for your outstanding effort, participation and exceptional results.

Student testimonies of the Diocesan Championships, Wednesday 14/2/25.

Henry: Playing in Lismore was fun and was filled with lots of laughs but the best part was beating Mackillop.

Gabby: Going to Lismore was a really great experience, and was really fun to go with all the other team players. I’m super excited to go next year and hopefully take another medal home.

Angie: It was so much fun going to Lismore to represent St Joseph’s College in Tennis.

Toby: Although the courts were wet, it was a great experience meeting new people.

Paige: Being my last year, I was so excited when we were able to come through with the win. You can’t wipe the smile off my face # back-to-back.

Abbie: This experience was so enjoyable, and I can’t wait for the next level, and doing it all again next year.
