2025 NSW All Schools Touch Football State Final

  featured image

On 17th September, SJRC sent two teams to Manly to contest the NSW All Schools Touch Football State Final. The All Schools pathway is one of the strongest school based competitions with many schools fielding NSW players.

The teams travelled to Glenwood on the 16th of September before a light training run Tuesday afternoon.. It was an early night with the potential of 8 games of touch football the next day.

Sunny skies and light winds greeted us on a relativley mild day on the northern beaches.

The Yr 9/10 Boys started strong defeating St Clares Taree 2-1, St John XXII Boys 8-2 and Carroll College South Coast 5-3. The team then played two of the highest quality touch games of the day going down to St Augustines 5-1. After qualifying for the quarter finals, the boys defeated Ballina Coast High School 4-3 but were eventually defeated by Holy Cross Ryde in a nail biting 3-2 scoreline.
Thank you to Mr Gudgeon for his effort working with the boys and congratulations on finishing equal 3rd in the state.

The Yr 7/8 Boys had a tough start, going down to All Saints Maitland 4-3, St Augustines 3-0 and St Johns Dubbo 3-2. The team bounced back for a win against Carroll College South Coast 5-3. Unfortunatley this eliminated us from finals, placing us 4th in the pool and 7th overall.
Thank you Mr Prince for your contribution and coaching experience and Mr Beebey for accompanying the team to the tournament.
