2021 Swimming Carnival Report

17th February 2021
On Tuesday the 16th February the Port Macquarie Olympic Pool hosted our annual swimming carnival. Heavy rain during the night had organisers worried about what we might awaken too, thankfully the rain cleared leaving us in sunshine for most of the day.
The carnival started at 9:45am with 100 staff and 800 students in attendance. The first event was the 50m freestyle followed by breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. If you were a confident swimmer and/or wanted the big participation points you swam in the 50m pool (5 points). Not so confident – the same program ran in the 25m pool but only 1 point for participation. It was wonderful to see so many collecting points.
We stopped for lunch at 12:30pm. Relay teams were announced and the double points event got underway at 1:15pm.
Presentations took place at 2pm for age champions, runners up and winning house.
