SJRC News in Brief: Term 2 Week 1 - 3rd May 2024
Welcome back to Term 2. This term tends to be very busy, and as such, I encourage all families to stay up to date with what is happening at the College by regularly checking their notifications in the Compass App and following our College Facebook page.
Staff Congratulations
I'm incredibly proud of the dedication demonstrated by our staff at St. Joseph's Regional College. Even after their day at the College concludes, many continue their impactful work within the community. One quiet achiever is Mr Shane Hyland, our Leader of Evangelisation.
On behalf of our College community, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Mr Hyland on his recent instalment as an Acolyte during the Sunday, April 28th, 5:00pm Mass. This instalment is a step for Mr Hyland to become a permanent Deacon. This recognition is a testament to his commitment and service. We are truly fortunate to have him as part of our team.
I encourage you to read the following articles by Fr Paul Gooley, published in the St Agnes' Catholic Parish Bulletin. Both articles shed light on the role of an Acolyte and how Mr Hyland's installation will have a lasting impact on our parish community.
ANZAC Day March
During the holidays, on Anzac Day, our College was represented by many students and staff who demonstrated incredible community spirit by attending marches at Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Laurieton. I want to extend my appreciation to our students for their respectful presence and commendable presentation during the march and service. We also had a number of students involved in the Senior and Junior Drumlines that played during the march and performed on Town Green after the service.

Join us at the Youth Hub on Friday afternoon (10th of May) from 5:30-7:30 pm for dinner, games, and a great time.
Bring your mates and $5 for dinner.
